DIY Doll Sized Deviled Egg Tray

March 24, 2017 By Brandy 5 Comments

In a previous post the “Coop Crew” made DIY doll sized deviled eggs.  The “Coop Crew” needed a place to store their yummy deviled eggs!  I got to work and created a DIY doll sized devil egg tray….perfect for those dolly picnics and parties on the go!  This American Girl doll sized deviled egg tray was fast and simple to make.

Below are inspiration pictures of my real deviled egg trays.  I have a few on hand.  We love deviled eggs in this house.  It’s not a party without the deviled eggs!

The doll version turned out spot on!  My daughters loved it!

For the main container I used a mini stacker container that I found at JoAnns.  With a coupon this container cost $1.50.  It can also be found on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B4NPO08/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 .  This container measured 3.5 x 4.75 x 1.5 inches.

  1.  All labels were removed and container was cleaned and dried.

2.  I used Crayola Model Magic Air dry Clay.  I worked an amount in my hands to soften.  The clay was spread over the bottom of the container.

3.  I needed to get a smooth flat surface.  I used a straw cut down to size as a rolling pin.  Then I finished by pressing a box of 24 crayons into the container.  I did use a small clay tool to trim a way clay from the sides/edges.

4.  The doll polymer clay eggs were then laid out over the clay for spacing.  Each egg was slightly depressed.  Do Not depress fully.

The clay was allowed to air dry overnight.

Lid’s on and the eggs are set to be traveled!

I found super cute doll sized mason jar mugs that have roosters on them!  These glasses were found at Target in the gift card / party favor section.  Maybe I’ll have to make up some DIY doll egg nog inspired from Lisa’s real recipe here:  http://www.fresheggsdaily.com/2012/11/holiday-eggnog-made-with-farm-fresh-eggs.html .

Craft on !  Brandy

That is way too clever! I love the details! 😊 Similar containers can be found at Office Depot & Walmart. Thanks so much for this fun series! 😊
