Doll Tailgate Folding Table and Food

August 26, 2016 By Brandy 22 Comments

Every doll party needs a folding table!  After a little searching I found the perfect solution.  Use a folding storage rack as a doll table!  It took a bit to find just the right shelf that would be a good height for the dolls to use as a table…but I found it!  This table measures 11.5 inches wide, 5.75 inches deep, and 7.5 inches high.  You can find this folding shelf  (aka folding doll table) here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AK44S3A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 .

This folding table would be perfect for any doll party scene…Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas…I can see all those treats displayed out on it now!  It really reminds me of the white folding tables you can get at Sams Club.  They would also make a perfect Wellie Wisher table “the kid table” at Thanksgiving or Christmas!

The height of this table makes a perfect buffet table for your dolls.

This shelf actually has a grid top surface.  I simply cut a piece of foam-board and laid it overtop.  You could also use heavy cardstock paper or cardboard.

And the cherry on top is that the table really folds down for storage!  Perfect!  My daughters loved the idea that they could really pack up their doll car with the tailgating items.

Every tailgate table needs full of tasty food!  The cups are communion cups.  The plates are taster/app plates found at Walmart in the party area. Silverware is AG.  The ketchup and mustard and salt and pepper are OG.

The AMAZINGLY realistic deviled eggs are from Dolly’s Dining Room.  The hotdogs, hamburgers, and watermelons are erasers found in the party favor section at Target.  The hamburger toppings are made out of felt and foam paper with sharpie markers for accents.  The veggie tray is a bead tray; foam and painted wood beads were used for the veggies.  The potato chips and Doritos are made from foam paper and accented with Sharpie markers.  The rest of the food items were Etsy purchases.

The foam finger is from an old AG release.  BUT, a HUGE thank you goes out to reader Amy for letting me know you can get mini foam fingers at Oriental Trading.  Here is the link:  http://www.orientaltrading.com/web/search/searchMain?Ntt=foam fingers

The pink cooler is from the OG car washing set.  I placed a sticker on it to add to the theme flare.  The Coleman cooler can be found here:  http://www.doll-clothes.com/coleman-cooler-w-lemonade-in-blue/.  Clear pony beads were used as ice.  The bottled waters were from keychains found on Ebay.  The green drinks are from AG.  The purple soda is from OG.

    Hi Brandy:
My granddaughter is crazy about my generation dolls. We’d like to know how we can get the bingo and domino set.

Hi! These OG sets are a few years old. If they are still available, you can find them at Target.

    Hey Brandy,

Trying to look up the water bottle keychains… is that all you entered in to find them on Ebay?

Hi Leighanne! Yes, all I entered on eBay was water bottle keychains. I did a Google search and found similar ones on Alibaba.com. However, you have to purchase a ton of them. I contacted the retailer and asked them to consider selling them in a lower quantity. I’ll let you know if they respond. If they do offer a lower amount I’ll see what the cost is. I may purchase some and offer them to my readers…. stay tuned.

Love the table, already added to my Amazon wishlist for my next order. The nice part about the foam core is you can make it whatever color or theme you want by covering it with fabric or scrapbook paper. Terrific idea, definitely want this to go with my fold out camper! Everything looks great too, I have those deviled eggs from DDR and they are absolutely spot on perfect. Love her stuff!

[…] How cute are those heart shaped bingo chips!?!?  The domino box slides open.  This set comes with instructions to play an actual game of dominoes.  This set would be perfect for any of the Melody American Girl doll lover.  The AG Melody bingo set is very pricey at $68….this set is a great alternative for only $6.  And if you need a folding table to go with your bingo set (like offered by AG that goes with Melody) check out this alternative…. http://brandyshappyhome.com/doll-tailgate-folding-table-and-food/ […]
