Dolloween Carnival Part 1: Costumes

October 5, 2016 By Brandy 6 Comments

I am so excited for Boo Boulevard’s Dolloween Carnival!  Get ready for an amazing series of three posts that will include Halloween doll costumes, games, and creepy treats!  Up first are the doll costumes!  I wanted to focus this year on costumes for American Girl’s new line of dolls, the Wellie Wishers.  My daughters and I have been collecting doll costumes for several years for the 18 inch dolls.  We had absolutely nothing for our Wellie Wisher dolls; so we were thrilled to find that an on-line shop, My Brittany’s, was carrying an entire line of doll Halloween Costumes sized specifically for the Wellie Wisher dolls.  You can find the My Brittany’s Wellie Wisher line here:  http://www.mybrittanys.com/14-5-inch-wellie-wishers/

Here is a sneak peak the Dolloween Carnival… right on Boo Boulevard!  Here the dolls will play carnival games, win prizes, and enjoy creepy treats.  BUT, you have to come dressed in your favorite costume!

Here is the Wellie Wishers in their Halloween “Dolloween” Costumes from My Brittany’s !  We love them!  These costumes are of very good quality.   My daughters were easily able to dress and undress the dolls with these costumes.  These outfits also come in matching sizes for your 18 inch dolls (such as American Girl and Our Generation) as well as 20 inch dolls (such as Adora.)  This is great if you want to get those big sis – little sis doll pics!

Emerson looks fabulous in her bumble bee costume.  I love round fullness of the costume’s shape.

Camille looks bootiful in this ghost costume!  This costume came with mask and bag.  So ADORABLE!

My girls really liked that the hood could come off.  Works great with dolls with long hair.

Trick or Treat!  Willa is styling in this little witch costume.  The wide brim hat fits over her braids perfectly!  This outfit comes with the felt broom.

Willa is off to scare up some fun!  Love the classic Halloween colors in this costume!  All shoes worn by the Wellie’s are from Hearts for Hearts dolls.  Not to worry, My Brittany’s will be carrying shoes for the Wellies later this month!  For more info on the Wellie Costumes see http://www.mybrittanys.com/14-5-inch-wellie-wishers/.  My daughters are already crushing on the new candy corn Wellie outfit!

Hi. My daughter is wanting this witch costume for her Wellie wisher. Could you still make this? Thank you!

Sara, I did not make these Wellie Wisher costumes. They were found at this site: https://www.mybrittanys.com/14-inch-wellie-wishers/ . I am not sure on their availability. Thanks for asking. 🙂

    Wow, what great costumes!

Can I ask about “Indian Kaya” though? Native people don’t wear powwow outfits or traditional clothing as costumes for Halloween. It’d be kind of like an altar boy (or girl) wearing their religious vestments as a side Halloween costume. It’s just not something that’s done, ’cause it ventures on the offensive/racist (not calling you either of those things, just pointing out something you probably didn’t realize when you made the post). For more info, check out the “we’re a culture, not a costume” campaign.

Other than that, your dolls look great! 😀

Hi Indie, Thanks for the info. No malicious intent here, just an 8 year girl picking her favorite dolls and their outfits. We’ve never thought of Kaya as a modern girl so to us her clothing is her every day clothing not a costume. They chose her because of their love of the culture and wanted to celebrate it…and so be it on Halloween. And yes both, of my daughters have dressed as native American princesses for Halloween and the idea of offending a culture was never an intent. And as they informed me Kaya’s Doll Outfit is a meet outfit and not a powwow dress or costume…lol.
