Lori Doll Horse Barn Review

I am so excited to share with you today my review (and my daughters’ review) of the Lori Doll Horse Barn, also known as the Horse Haven.  The Lori Doll collection can be found at Target : http://www.target.com/s?searchTerm=lori%20doll%20horse.  I will be reviewing the Lori Doll Horse Barn, two horses, two equestrian dolls, and the Gourmet Market.  I will discuss packaging, construction/quality, visual appeal, and play value.

My daughters requested I provide a little storyline along with the review.  The review opens at the city loft of Aveline.  Aveline has invited her good friend, Bryn, over for a sushi dinner. The Gourmet Market set comes with: 1 bamboo steamer, 1 cluster of broccoli, 1 cluster of green beans, 1 tray of lasagna, 1 pizza, 1 pizza slice & 1 tray, 2 sushi rolls, 1 sushi mat, 2 sushi boards, 2 sets of chop sticks, 1 fondue pot, 1 fondue burner, 2 fondue forks, 3 food bags, 1 baguette & 1 paper bag, 1 basket with strawberries & cherries, 4 pints of ice cream, 1 ice cream scooper, 3 popsicles, 2 swee desserts & 2 lids, 1 measuring cup, 1 pitcher of juice & 2 glasses, 1 apron.  This set is packed!  We love it!

Aveline has just returned from her ballet class.  She has prepared a wonderful dinner for Bryn.  Aveline’s dog, Blaze, looks for scraps.  Aveline tells Bryn she needs a little break from city life and has decided to head to her family’s farm in the country for a much needed weekend getaway.

Now for the AMAZING Lori barn, horses, and equestrian riders!  Pictured here are these items in their boxes so you can see what to look for in stores.

Just look at all the doll goodness!  This Lori Doll horse barn comes very well packaged.  VERY WEL packaged…took a bit of time to get it unpackaged.  BUT…no items were missing and nothing was broken, so the packaging is worth it.   I have to say kudos to the Battat marketing team because this type of packaging lets you visually see everything you are getting and is a tease to the kiddos.   I would suggest that Santa have this unpackaged and ready to be played with for Christmas morning.

The horse barn comes with 1 horse barn with shower grate, 1 feeder, 1 shovel, 1 pitchfork, 1 wheelbarrow, 1 hose, 1 bucket, 4 fence panels, 2 bales of hay, 2 hanging feeders, 1 saddle, 1 bag of food, 1 basket with apples, 1 basket with carrots, 1 horse grooming tote, 1 grooming mitt, 1 dandy brush, 1 scrapper, 1 hoof pick, 1 curry brush, 1 spray bottle.

The accessories are numerous and very realistic looking!  Great job Battat!

The stall lights REALLY light up!

The sprinkler REALLY works too!  This was a HUGE hit with my daughters!  So Adorable!  Check out my YouTube Video if you want to see the sprinkler really working!

All stall doors, both in the front and back of the barn, open easily and safely!

The fencing attaches to the side of the barn.  This gives a really  nice finished barn look.  The fence can easily snap apart to appear as a fence door.

FINALLY a boy mini doll!  The equestrian doll on the left is Evan and the doll on the right is Aveline.  My daughters being huge Harry Potter fans renamed Evan; they thought he resembled Draco Malfoy.

We love the realistic equestrian outfits the dolls come in!  The dolls were quickly posed and stood in place nicely.  The outfits were easily removed and replaced.

The dolls sat straight in the saddles.  The horses are beautiful!  They stand steady.  Each horse set comes with 1 horse, 1 saddle, 1 bridle, and 2 saddle pads.  Additional accessories vary depending on which horse is purchased such as a scraper, brush, glove, spray bottle,  or pail.

We took photos late into the evening.  I had an idea to take the bedding from the doll bed and place it in the loft.  A perfect fit!

Here’s a tip…save the printed images that come in your packaging and recycle them a framed photos for the dollhouse.  Attach photo with a small amount of poster putty.

Hands down, the Lori Doll horse barn, horses, equestrian dolls, and market sets are a must buy for any mini doll lover! They are well constructed and the price point is excellent.  I foresee much playtime with these sets.  Enjoy and craft on!
