Wellie Wisher DIY Tea Set and Placemats

November 2, 2016 By Brandy 13 Comments

My daughters and I are in love with the Wellie Wisher line of dolls from American Girl.  And that love brings a wanting of EVERYTHING!  But…that wanting does not fit into this Momma’s pocketbook!  Today I will share with you my wonderful Dollar Tree doll sized tea sets and a free printable for a place setting placemat inspired after the Tea Party set offered by AG.  I will also show you how I recycled treats from Our Generation to complete a Wellie Wisher tea party.

These two sets are my inspiration: the Tea for Two Party Set ($24) and the Berry Sweet Snack Stand ($28).   These sets total $52!    Now there are five WW characters so………. with making a DIY version it is way more cost effective for each doll to participate in the party.  Don’t get me wrong…these sets are FABULOUS…but pricey.wellie-wisher-tea-party-inspiration

Here is a pic of the Wellie Wisher Tea Party Place Setting placemat that I made.  I did not include the saucer or fork since the tea sets I used did not come with them.  Here is the printable for you: wellie-wisher-tea-party-placemats  Simply print, cut, and glue the back in place…I LOVE that they are reversible!

I found the perfect doll sized tea sets in the toy section at the Dollar Tree.  I bought one of each set for the colors…now many dolls can come to the tea party…for $1 per set …plus the cost of printing the placemats if you choose to do that.

For the sweets I simply recycled treats from the OG diner and a serving tray I already had….gotta love recycling!

Stay tuned for more WW inspired crafting over the next few weeks and see how our AG inspired Kit treehouse gets a Wellie makeover!  Craft on!

***BONUS***As requested by a reader…a child sized version of the Wellie doll placemats.  See here for your printables: Child Wellie Placemats Front and Child Wellie Placemats Back .

Hello! Thank you so much! My daughter loves the Wellie Wisher Dolls and the placemats. I was wanting to print a life size placemat out for my daughter to use. Do you have a life size printable, maybe to print on normal cardstock? Thank you!

Hi Lezli! I did some editing and made a child sized version of the Wellie doll placemats. I made them as large as possiblw for a printable. I attached the pdfs in this Wellie Wishers DIY Tea Party post. Thanks for asking and I hope this helps. Let me know how the tea party goes!

Thank you very much! I printed it and the colors are so vibrant. Very pretty! I cannot wait to show it to my daughter. She will be so excited that we will probably have to have tea parties every day for weeks on end. Lol! Thank you again!
