I have been a HUGE fan of “A Bee Line” for several years! Bee is an absolute fabulous seamstress and shoe cobbler. She specializes in doll clothes and shoes fit for 18 inch and 14.5 inch dolls, such as American Girl, Wellie Wishers, and Hearts for Hearts dolls. Bee’s doll clothing is heirloom quality, meaning high end quality that will last years to come. I love her choices in design, pattern, and color. I have reached out to Bee more than once for a custom request, which she has always been on board to help. You can find “A Bee Line” on Etsy here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/ABeeLine . You can also follow “A Bee Line” on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/ABeeLineDesigns/ .
Here’s some behind the scenes details about Bee:
“My name is Bee Jacobs. I’m a wife and mom of two daughters and one fluffy cat. I grew up in a small mountain town in California, but I have been making my home in the beautiful Pacific Northwest for 25 years. Growing up, my mom and aunt always had all kinds of arts and crafts project going and I just continued with that tradition. I was selling home décor, jewelry, quilts, and custom handbags on consignment when my youngest daughter wanted some clothes for her American Girl Dolls. I jumped right in making my own outfits when she discovered online pdf patterns for dolls. We were hooked and then decided to open my Etsy shop, A Bee Line. I love all things girlie so you will see lots of pink, flowers, and lace in my shop but I also love to do the vintage look and boy stuff as well! I enjoy pattern testing so you will see a variety of items with my signature look. I specialize in doll bags and shoes complete with custom shoe box, but I am up for anything and do lots of specials orders too.”
The pictures above are my recent purchase from A Bee Line. This Wellie Wishers dress is GORGEOUS! The material is beautiful. The material is from the Anne of Green Gables line of fabrics. Being an Anne fan, as well as a Bee fan, and of course a Wellie fan, I knew I had to buy this dress! I really like the snaps option instead of Velcro.
The lace color and trim add wonderful sophistication to this little dress. It takes an enormous amount of talent to sew so precisely in this scale. I’m so impressed! As you can see the quality is superb. The dress is also fully lined.
Here are the adorable spectator flats that Bee made to go with the Lemon Bay Doll Company’s Feed Sack Dress. You can find more information here: http://brandyshappyhome.com/doll-feed-sack-dress-apron-giveaway/
Here are the buckle shoes Bee made for my custom Claire Fraser doll. You can find more info here: http://brandyshappyhome.com/claire-fraser-doll/
Bee’s signature shoe boxes are the cherry on top! I adore them too!
Pictured above is one of Bee’s signature purses. Bee also made postcards, necklaces, and doll treats to go with this particular line. I used this set to decorate for a Parisian inspired bedroom for American Girl Grace. This was for a post for Doll Diaries a few years ago.
I wanted to share a close up of this bag. Look how meticulously the flap matches up with the base. PERFECTION! Bee doesn’t miss a thing! I look forward to purchasing from and working with Bee again in the future.
Craft on!
We have a bag from Bee and it is beautifully crafted. One of our favourite pieces in our collection.
All of the praise for Bee’s precision and choices of fabric and pattern and embellishments are truly well deserved. Easy to see that Bee loves what she does!
Thank you so much for doing such a lovely blog post on me and my shop. It is always a pleasure working with you.
