All tailgates need a portable grill! I found a super quick and easy way to make a grill for your dolls. Those burgers and hotdogs will be cooking up in no time at all! We have a few doll grills but they are very large…too large for the dolls to take to a game….so I had to get crafty!
I recycled a Chick-fil-a container! This container was from a fruit cup in a kid’s meal. I trimmed off all the irregular corners with a pair of scissors. I then cut a piece of cross-stitch plastic and simply laid it into/over the inner lip of the container to create a grate. I then hot glued four white pony beads to the bottom for feet.
For the grill lid I cut a small square of black cardstock paper to cover the center Chick-fil-a emblem. I did this on top and underneath the lid. I glued the paper under the lid to hid the glue from the top…have to keep it looking nice and clean. I then hot glued two clear pony beads to the lid. I cut a small piece of black straw and glued over the clear beads to create the handle.
And it’s that easy…grill is done!
The smell of the burgers grilling is bringing in a lot of tailgaters!
Craft on!
Thank you for the idea. My son helped me make one for a project. We changed it but it was your idea that helped us make ours.
Ours is a round one with legs. I’d send you a picture of it, but I can’t figure out how. I’ll take a good picture and put it on Pinterest.
Great idea! So clever! I love your attention to detail with the lid. Thanks for sharing! (mscraftsalotsdolls) 😊
Thanks Amanda! 🙂
Ooooo, I knew I was saving those containers for a reason!
LOL. That’s awesome! I hope you make this little grill!
Ha! Another great reason to go to Chick-fil-A! My daughter will love it!
We LOVE Chick-fil-A! 🙂
Another cute project! I can’t wait to see what you come up with next!
Love this! Your work is always fabulous.
Thanks Madelon!
LOVE this idea, especially since it used recycled materials! So CUTE!! Thanks!
Thanks Lea Ann!
Another great idea! I love the use of the plastic canvas for the grill grate, that works better than anything else I’ve seen and much easier to cut.
Thanks Flo!
