I’ve got another post in my “Around the Kid’s Table” series! I always try to make the “kid’s table” just as festive as the adult table! An easy way to add a little décor to the holiday kid’s table is to create a chair cover for the folding chairs. Today I will share with you how I make my no-sew chair covers from placemats, ribbon, and safety pins. These DIY chair covers are so easy!
I had these adorable turkey placemats from Pottery Barn Kids. After years of use, they still washed up great. I decided to recycle them into chair covers.
You will need a placemat for both the front and back of the chair.
Pick a grosgrain ribbon of choice. Cut enough in length to be able to tie a together around chair and form a bow. Use safety pins to attach ribbon to placemat.
You will also need a small piece of ribbon to attach to the top to the placemat so the cover will hang over the chair back.
Make a simple bow…and you’re done! Easy!
I have made these chair covers for various holidays. One of my favorite holiday chair covers are for Halloween and are from the spider web placemats found at the dollar store.
