Doll Gardens & Chickens

March 22, 2017 By Brandy 2 Comments

The “Coop Crew” is at it again today to bring you Gardening With Chickens!  The crew consists of myself – Brandy, Lisa of http://www.fresheggsdaily.com/ , and Michelle of https://lemonbaydoll.com/.  Today’s post was inspired by Lisa Steele’s Book, Gardening With Chickens.  The fantastic doll sized hens and garden sets in these scenes are made by Michelle of the Lemon Bay Doll Company and are available for purchase on her website.  You can get your doll sized version of Lisa’s book here:

The Lemon Bay Doll Company provides high quality heirloom toys sized for American Girl dolls and other 18 inch sized dolls.  Their toy gardens and coops are an incredible way to build an understanding of and respect for nature and our environment, and to teach kids to nurture and care for other living things.  Time spent in the garden provides countless opportunities for hands-on learning, inquiry, observation and experimentation.  Imaginative play imparts skills that they will someday apply in life.

We absolutely LOVE the doll sized garden sets available from the Lemon Bay Doll Company.  We have both the veggie and the flower sets.  We combined both sets in the picture below to create a look of a very lush garden.  I love how the hens are peaking through.

To  add a little extra decorative flare to these scenes I went to Lisa’s Etsy shop https://www.etsy.com/shop/FreshEggsDaily  and was inspired by her sticker decals.  I just got a Cricut in January and set out for my very first project…yep… mini doll versions of Lisa’s stickers.  They came out super cute!  What do you think?

Here are the real life size hen decals available from Lisa’s shop.  I love them!

Here is another picture of my Uncle Carl holding one of his feathered children.  I wish my daughters and I could gather those eggs with him in the warm weather of St. Croix, USVI.

Is the link for the doll-sized printable in the post? I think I missed it…

There is not a printable in the “Doll Gardens & Chickens” post in the Coop Crew Series. However, there are printables offered in the other posts in this series. Which printable were you looking for?
