My daughters got the American Girl Melody doll this week! They have had the books for quite a while now and have really enjoyed them. It was only a few short days before they were asking me to craft up something special just for this character. I decided to create “Frank’s Flowers.” Melody’s beloved grandfather, Poppa, owns a flower shop. Melody loves spending time at the flower shop helping her grandfather. I have created 4 printables for you; so you can create a flower shop for Melody too.
I love visiting my local florist. You walk in to an array of vases and baskets and the wonderful aroma of flowers and evergreens. I wanted the “Frank’s Flowers” sign to be colorful and fun. You can find the printable for the flower shop sign here: melodys-flower-shop-sign-printable
I stained mini crates from Michaels to use as shelving to display a variety of vases and containers.
I wanted the shop to have a well stocked and eclectic look.
My local florist always has a specials sign posted out front of the shop. I wanted to create that for “Frank’s Flowers” too.
I created a printable with four different specials signs. We couldn’t forget to wish Melody a Happy Birthday when we posted the New Year’s specials! You can find the flower shop specials printable here: melodys-flower-shop-specials-printable
All florists need an order pad! I created one straight from 12th Street, Detroit, Michigan!
I created an order pad printable for you. Simply print, cut, and staple together. You can find Poppa’s, Frank’s Flowers, shop order form here: melodys-flower-shop-order-forms
Looks like Addy is sending her mother some flowers! How sweet!
I created a back work table for the dolls to make the floral arrangements. Add a phone to get those orders and a few gardening tools!
I used an acrylic index card box for the floral fridge! Melody wanted to decorate the back work room with a few pictures of her favorite musicians: Martha and the Vandellas, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, and the Supremes! These images were found on a Google search.
Melody doesn’t want to get her adorable dress dirty so she puts on her shop apron. I created a “Frank’s Flowers” apron logo. Simple print image onto iron-on paper and iron to a doll apron of your choice. Frank’s Flowers apron printable can be found here: melodys-flower-shop-apron-printable
Ms. Addy Walker is ready to pick up her floral arrangement! I can’t wait to see your “Frank’s Flowers” shops! Craft on!
I love your flower shop!!! where did you find Addys outfit and shoes and purse
Thanks so much! Addy’s purse was from the Our Generation line at Target; they offered a “Retro” line a few years ago. The dress is a hand sewn dress from my friend, Carol M.
Where did you find all the little baskets and vases for your shop?
Most of the vases and baskets have been collected over the years. The baskets and tin are favors found in the wedding section at Michaels. You can find white tins at the dollar store. Some of the “vases” are actually bead containers found at Michaels. I hope this helps.
Hi. We made the flower shop today. It was so much fun to make. We are going to run out to the garden soon to pick flowers for the AG dolls to sell. Thanks again for the fun idea! Once we put the finishing details on the shop, I may post pictures to Pinterest and Instagram. Fond Regards!
Sarah and Eva, please tag me in you IG posts about the flower shop! I would love to see the pictures!
