The Our Generation doll line carried by Target stores is cranking out some pretty amazing doll sets! The Our Generation retro sets are ADORABLE! AND….the price of these sets is very affordable. These sets usually sell for around $6 per set. Our Generation is definitely giving American Girl a run for its money! To be completely honest, my daughters and I are enjoying the OG line as much …or more…than American Girl. Today I will share with you six of the new released OG retro sets. These have hit some stores already and will soon find their way to stores near you.
Here is a closer look of these sets. Keep checking back with your local stores for availability. Unfortunately, these are not sold on-line….I wish they were.
Helping model these sets is an Our Generation retro doll, Terry. She is beautiful. My daughters and I love her silky think blond hair. The letterman jacket is a super cute touch! She has bright blue sleep eyes. Her peach party dress is adorable. She posed very easily for all pictures.
Up first is the “Game Night” set. We LOVE this set! The set includes: 1 dominoes box with 28 dominoes, 2 bingo cards, 20 bingo chips, 20 bingo chip numbers, and 1 draw string bag.
All pieces were sized perfectly for 18 inch dolls. Fourteen inch dolls would fit these great too.
How cute are those heart shaped bingo chips!?!? The domino box slides open. This set comes with instructions to play an actual game of dominoes. This set would be perfect for any of the Melody American Girl doll lover. The AG Melody bingo set is very pricey at $68….this set is a great alternative for only $6. And if you need a folding table to go with your bingo set (like offered by AG that goes with Melody) check out this alternative…. http://brandyshappyhome.com/doll-tailgate-folding-table-and-food/
The next set is “Take a Letter.” This adorable sets comes with: 1 retro typewriter, 1 pen, 1 notepad, and 20 sheets of paper.
This set is a must retro set. The pink typewrite is too cute for words. The steno-pad is realistic too.
Paper can be inserted and rolled into place with working feed roller and bail bar. When the keys or space bar are struck, the roller bar (platen bar) moves to the left. When the bar goes all the way to the left you can slide it right…back in line again. When keys are hit a letter stick key hits the paper. Wonderful details OG!
Up next is the “Chit Chat Set.” This set includes: 1 pair of retro glasses, 1 retro phone, 1 picture frame with photo, 1 marker, and 1 sheet of paper.
This set is so cute! The phone is very realistic! We loved that the marker cap could come off and be placed on the other end. The photo frame folds open to stand. We noticed a boy doll was pictured…could this be a boy line of dolls is coming soon?
The rotatory dial on the phones does work. The phones fits nicely in the doll’s hand. April looked super cute in the cat eye glasses!
Up next is the “Park Day” set. This set includes: 1 retro radio, 1 book, 1 pair of sunglasses, and 1 picnic blanket.
The radio in this set is FABULOUS! It really plays 6 songs. Instructions come in packaging on how to use the real working knobs and buttons. I can see a beautiful day…chilling at the park with some tunes and a book a sweet poetry! This radio reminded us of the American Girl Melody’s radio that comes in her bedroom accessories….just at a fraction of the cost!
Up next is the “Reel Cool” set. This set includes: 1 retro video camera, 1 film reel, and 1 scene clapper.
My daughters could wait to get their hands on this set. They were ready to use that scene clapper and shout, “ACTION” and “CUT.” Our Generation is just blowing our minds with all of their details and creativity!
Here is a view of the camera from the front…there is a faux clear lens!
Last, but not least, is the “Bedtime Treats” set. This set includes: 1 alarm clock, 1 eye mask, 1 glass of milk, 1 plate, and 2 cookies.
The clock is not a functioning clock. It does have a knob on the back so a specific time can be set. The cookies look very realistic!
We loved that the milk had milk-bubbles on the top. The retro image on the plate is spot on! The night mask fit the doll perfectly; it went on and off easily.
If you see any of these sets snatch them up! I’m sure when they make their way to your stores they won’t stay there long. We love these sets!
*Also modeling in some of today’s pictures is an Our Generation doll, April, who is wearing an OG retro poodle skirt set that can be purchased separately. Our Generation doll toys can be found in stores and on-line here: http://www.target.com/s?searchTerm=our%20generation
Adorable! I will have to keep an eye out for these sets. Here in Canada, we don’t have much access to Our Generation except online. Thanks for the heads up!

These are great. Ran out and was able to find phone, camera and radio. On the hunt for the typewriter. So cool. Thanks for sharing
Linda, that’s awesome! I hope you find the typewriter soon!
Wow!!! These are wonderful!!! They look like they are in The $6.99 boxes. Is that so?
Yes, Linda that is correct! Great price!
